What’s On in Anglesey This August (2025)?

August on Anglesey? It’s the island at its absolute best. The days are long, the sea’s (just about) warm enough for a paddle, and the calendar is packed with events.

Keep the whole family entertained this summer with our round-up of August events across Anglesey.

Festivals & Big Events

Anglesey Agricultural Show

Mona Showground | 12th –13th August
It’s back! The Anglesey Show is one of the biggest events of the summer, celebrating all things rural life.

Expect livestock competitions, sheep shearing displays, food tents, local crafts, and fairground rides. It’s a brilliant day out for families, with something for everyone (even if you don’t know your Jersey from your Highland cow!).

Cemaes Bay Carnival

 Cemaes Village | 3rd August

One of the highlights of the northern coast’s summer calendar, the Cemaes Bay Carnival is a proper community celebration.

Expect colourful floats, live music, fancy dress, stalls, games, and plenty of seaside spirit. It’s a lovely mix of old-school fun and local pride — perfect for families, and a great excuse to explore this pretty coastal village while you’re at it.

Music & Arts

Trearddur Bay Live Music Nights

Various pubs & venues | Every weekend in August
Trearddur Bay has a buzzing summer music scene with live bands and acoustic sets at places like The Sea Shanty and Driftwood.

Perfect for a chilled evening after a day at the beach for a sip of something strong, or a taste of something good. Treaddur Bay’s live music scene is the weekend plans you’re looking for.

Fresh produce, handmade crafts, plants, and the odd sweet treat — this market is a mid-week favourite for locals and visitors alike.

Rhosneigr Artisan Pop-Ups

Rhosneigr | 9th & 23rd August
Keep an eye out for pop-up stalls along the high street, with handmade jewellery, Welsh gifts, and beach-inspired bits and bobs. A nice way to support local makers and pick up something unique. Further details can be found on the Facebook page.

Just in Case (Indoor Options)

Anglesey Sea Zoo Summer Trail

Brynsiencyn | Daily
There’s a summer trail around the Sea Zoo with stamps, sea creatures, and silly facts to discover. It’s mostly undercover too — ideal for those ‘iffy’ weather days.

And if the Sea Zoo doesn’t entice you…

You know what Welsh summers can be like… If the rain rolls in, there are still loads of options.

Try the Anglesey Transport Museum for some vintage charm, or grab a coffee and a book in Beaumaris’s lovely cafes.

The Ucheldre Centre in Holyhead often has indoor performances and film screenings too, perfect for those grey afternoons.
